TEHRAN (AIPFF) – Oliver Stone, who has these days found his way to Zurich Festival to screen his new film, “Snowden”, has made interesting comments in an interview on the sidelines of the Festival and the Zurich Summit.

Stone told the meeting, “No big studio did support us and the film “Snowden” had stories as big as the film itself. The problem is now self-censorship. All are now feared and a new McCarthyism has been launched. Instead of saying you are critic of the US, they say you are anti-American. Being a critic of the US is not a problem.”

When the US system needs to be reformed, artists should criticize it, he said. Asked by reporters whether he will make any films about Trump in the future, he said why he should make a film about Trump.

“No film should be made about idiots. I should make a film about the evil-imaged people and why not a film on Hillary Clinton? There is a rumor that I do not reflect on female personalities but I think the lady should be dealt seriously and crushingly,” he said.
