AIPFF Sets off Public Display at Palestine Theater

TEHRAN (AIPFF) - The movies were selected from among over a 700 pieces submitted to the APFF secretariat by independent filmmakers from around the globe of which only 30 were selected by selection committee of the festival for public display.

TEHRAN (AIPFF) – The movies were selected from among over a 700 pieces submitted to the AIPFF secretariat by independent filmmakers from around the globe of which only 30 were selected by selection committee of the festival for public display.

The works cover a range of topics including the Islamic awakening, liberation movements in Islamic states, US hegemonic behavior in the world, use of women as tools and many other related topics.

Ammar Popular Film Festival is sponsored by the Office of Islamic Revolution Studies and has gained exceptional stance in the world by independent filmmakers who have sent their works to the festival.

One of the major features of the festival is that its works are viewed by the public and judged by the public audience.

Movies usually denied by most film festival sponsored by hegemonic powers or Zionist lobbies make way to the festival.

Independent American filmmaker Merlin once said AIPFF has a chance for filmmakers all around the globe to have their products viewed by the most possible audience.

Ammar Popular Film Festival is the only film festival in Iran and one of the very few festivals which provides free public display for its audience.

Viewers in over 2000 venues in the Islamic Republic can sit and watch Ammars films in mosques, schools, universities and many other public places.

The 2014 edition of AIPFF began on Friday in a ceremony at Palestine Theater and will run through January 11.
