AIPFF, Unparalleled Chance for Alternative Media

TEHRAN (AIPFF) - The international section of Ammar Popular Film Festival (AIPFF) should be in practice concerned with the issue of popularity, as its name denotes, as much as it cares about international relations so that it can fill the vast gap.

TEHRAN (AIPFF) – The international section of Ammar Popular Film Festival (AIPFF) should be in practice concerned with the issue of popularity, as its name denotes, as much as it cares about international relations so that it can fill the vast gap.

In fact, AIPFF must be regarded as an international cultural opportunity in Iran where the official media outlets addressing foreign audiences are dysfunctional and the related government organizations are entangled in a morass of mismanagement.

Highlighting the ‘popular’ aspect of the APFF in the international section would augment chances of communicating with foreign nations who would yearn to learn about the ongoing developments in the Islamic Iran.

On the other hand, the section would make it possible learning about the latest world developments for the uninformed classes of the Iranian nation who are out of reach of most of the nervous domestic media.

APFF is the only cultural atmosphere in Iran where Danny Schechter’s denigration of American capitalism as well as the latest trends in the occupied lands garnered by a Palestinian filmmaker can be learned, not to mention the fact that it also gives foreign viewers a picture of life in Iran.

Provided that the proper cultural links are ensured and maintained between organizers of Ammar Popular Film Festival and the audience in and outside of Iran, the foreign audience would find answers to some of their question about Iran they would not otherwise find elsewhere in official media outlets.

These are all potentials we shall remain patient to see when they will be activated.
