“The Heroes of Our Homes” is a documentary about an Iranian teacher who uses an innovative method in his classes to make his students further familiar with their parents’ contribution to the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979 as well as the eight-year Iraqi imposed war on the Islamic Republic of Iran in the 1980s. The teacher buys two books on tips and techniques of interview and teaches his students how to prepare to interview others and how to ask questions in a way that will bring out the best stories. He also provides them with some topics. The documentary shows the students going home and conducting interviews with their parents. The parents talk about their memories of the war, and their kids either record them or write them down. They later read them to the classroom or use LCD projector to display them. This way, students come to realize their heroes in their lives should be their parents and they should follow them in their footsteps.
