TEHRAN (AIPFF) – APFF has successfully filled in a gap that was always felt in Iranian cinema which is being popular, said Nader Talebzadeh in the policy-making council session of the festival.
He said this feature of APFF can play the same role in its international section by linking with and identifying independent moviemakers across the world.
“We are committed to displaying to the world the true identity of the Islamic Revolution and its achievements; however, due to certain shortcomings like indifference of cultural bodies and lack of cooperation by some officials and decision makers, we have not been able to act strongly regarding our foundational mission. The festival is expected to act better every year in promoting the true identity of the Islamic Revolution and its achievements,” Talebzadeh added.
The festival’s secretary further underscored the cultural proximity of Pakistani filmmakers with their Iranian opposite numbers, saying that Pakistani series are attractive for Iranians but none have so far been broadcast in Iran while films made by Americans, Koreans and the Chinese are widely seen on Iranian TV these days.
