It is late at night in Tehran and a pregnant woman needs urgent medical help. Her husband hails a taxi in the street to take him to a pharmacy. They drive and go to several all-night pharmacies but they were all run out of the medicine. “Driver” is a fiction story about a supportive cab driver who helps a man to get medicine for his wife late at night. His passenger is very angry and critical of the government as he cannot make ends meet. He does not have enough money to pay off his debt. The short film shows him writing his creditor’s bank account number on a 2000-toman bill to pay off his debt. You can also hear a man speaking in the radio, in the background of the film, about Infaq (almsgiving), encouraging people to help each other in hard times. The surprising part of the short film is the time when the passenger gives the bill to the driver as fare with the bank account number on it.
