TEHRAN (AIPFF) - Soheil Salimi’s documentary about American forces in Afghanistan is presented at the 1st Ammar Int'l Popular Film Festival.

TEHRAN (AIPFF) – Soheil Salimi’s documentary about American forces in Afghanistan is presented at the 1st Ammar Int’l Popular Film Festival.

The feature film received special commendation at several Canadian movie festivals like one by the British Colombia University.

Speaking with Farsnews, Salimi said the film also was acclaimed by the Musqueam People body of Indian Canadians; however, it failed to make it to the screening section of Iran’s Fajr Film Festival.

He also expressed hope that the film will receive its rightful reverence at Ammar due to the fact that the real judges of the festival are the people and the public viewers.

The movie has also won several trophies in Iran including the Honorary Phoenix Statue of the Islamic Revolution Intellectual Front and the Mass Supporting Palestinian People for entailing anti-Zionism traces.

Furthermore, Salimi has submitted two documentaries at the festival.

‘The End of the World; the Beginning of the Heavens’, and ‘Fight in the Depth of 30-meters’ are the two pieces; the former is about the return of old worriers from the front to the war zone and the latter focuses on Strait of Hormuz and the struggles of an Iranian company to fix a spill 30-meters down the water.
